How to Support Long Distance

Hey Long Distance Listener!

I probably don’t need to tell you this but… making radio and podcasts is a lot of fun but also a ton of work. I started Long Distance because I saw a great need to tell thoughtful, well-reported and produced audio stories about the Filipino diaspora. We’re just 5 stories in and the response has been incredible. I want to thank YOU so much for listening and supporting Long Distance. We hear you and we are working on making this podcast better and more sustainable for many seasons to come.

Long Distance is made by a 2-person team — co-producer Patrick Epino and me. That is tiny for a narrative documentary series that involves research, writing, booking, recording, editing, scripting, mixing, sound design, photography, video production, social media, marketing, and more. Don’t get me wrong, we LOVE doing this. Honestly, if I could do this full-time, I would. But we‘re not there yet. That’s why we need a little bit of your help to get there.

Here are some easy ways to help Long Distance:

Want to take your Long Distance support to the next level? Here are some ways:

  • Donate. We know this isn’t possible for everyone, but if every listener gave at least $5, that would help support season 2 production.

  • Become a sponsor for the next season. If you or your company are interested in learning more, send an email to hello (at) longdistanceradio (dot) com.

  • If you are a writer or journalist, we welcome interviews and features about the show. Reach out at hello (at) longdistanceradio (dot) com.

I know I sound like a broken record (trust me, I hate doing this promo stuff), but these things really do help. The podcast world is changing rapidly and, as more big corporations come in, independent shows like Long Distance need to work even harder to survive. Listener support is one of the best ways to help us keep going.

If you’ve read this far, THANK YOU for your understanding and support.

We can’t wait to keep making Long Distance for you.

Thanks for listening (and reading),
